Biography

One of the great things about the food industry is that chefs are often able to find ways to give back to the community through their work. After graduation, 91ÃÛÌÒß¹ alum Pnina Peled spent many years as the Executive Chef of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, where she was responsible for the meals of all the patients, as well as the food in the cafeterias and shops. She developed a program for pediatrics which allows the children to order whatever they want — a special source of comfort for a sick child. She has been profiled for her inspiring work with the hospital’s younger patients in the New York Times and on ABC 7. From Memorial Sloan-Kettering, Pnina accepted the position of Senior Executive Chef at New York Presbyterian-Columbia, putting her in charge of the VIP unit, catering to patients from the Clintons to royal families), high-end catering, and the hospital's private restaurant.
